Anyone know how to Record/Assemble Videos?

HEY FOLKS,

I want to record some gameplay of an MMORPG i play to make
a fun Video!

However, I have no idea how to record and assemble one.

Nor do i even know what programs to use!
( Free ones obviously )

So!
If any of you have Good Experience with a program as Such,
Or know someone that does?

Send em my way!
